Revolutionizing Biopharma Engineering: Key Takeaways from the 2023 Global Biopharma Engineering Forum and Ispe China Conference
Shanghai ISPE Pharmaceutical Information Company (SPIC) held the 2023 Global Biopharma Engineering Forum and ISPE China Conference in Hangzhou, China on 26-27, May 2023. Mr. Ping Zhang, Chairman of SPIC and the ISPE China Committee, introduced ISPE and provided an in-depth analysis of the prospects of domestic and foreign bio-pharmaceutical enterprises. The in-depth discussions from this conference will contribute to innovative breakthroughs and empowerment for China’s bio-pharmaceutical engineering industry.

The conference was strongly supported by the China Society of Drug Regulation, Zhejiang Provincial Drug Administration and Linping District Government. Bin Xue, Executive Director of the China Society of Drug Regulation, Jinfeng Liang, Deputy Director of the Drug and Cosmetics Evaluation Center for Zhejiang Drug Administration, Hua Ji, Deputy Governor of the Linping District, and Hui Zhang, member of the Party Working Committee of Development Zone, Deputy Director of Management Committee and Director of the Industry Merchants Bureau attended the meeting.
Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony, Tom Hartman, President and CEO of ISPE presented on global innovation and development trends of biopharmaceutical engineering. Hartman, along with Liang Han, knowledge engineering and regulatory science laboratory expert of Peking University, Jonathan Chapman, official of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) China office, Marcus Ray, Assistant Country Director of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Global Policy and Strategy (OGPS) China office, Andrei Spine of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and other speakers explored global biopharmaceutical industry trends, development direction, recent technical achievements and research results, and industry issues and challenges.
Seven forums, focusing on the whole link of biopharmaceutical engineering
Over two days, more than 40 leading industry experts spoke during seven forums, including biopharmaceutical, production engineering, compliance, gene and cell therapy (GCT), and supply chain issues. The conference provided participants with an extremely valuable biopharmaceutical engineering event, with cutting-edge views applicable to real-world problems.
