ISPE Member Spotlight: Lindsey Daniel

Lindsey Daniel, Director of Product Operations Strategy and Business Lead at Takeda, is an exemplary champion for and beneficiary of ISPE. Daniel embodies leadership and collaboration in numerous ways: as a mentor, mentee, friend, colleague, mother, and more. With over 12 years of active involvement with ISPE, she has served on various committees, including ISPE’s International Women in Pharma® Committee. She continues to grow, evolve, learn, and lead with ISPE.

In the embedded video below, taken at the 2025 ISPE Facilities of the Future Conference in San Francisco, California, USA, Daniel reflects on her experience serving on the committee for the ISPE Facilities of the Future Conference, balancing her roles in the industry and as a mother, and preparing for her upcoming role as the Chair of the 2026 ISPE Facilities of the Future Conference.

Sample excerpts from Daniel’s closing remarks are also outlined below.

“I am very excited to be here and I am very honored for this opportunity to chair the 2026 [ISPE] Facilities of the Futures Conference…I would have never imagined four and a half years ago that I would have the privilege of standing up here as the new chair of this conference.”

“After I had my daughter, I made a pretty bold decision to have a pretty large change of pace in my career. I wanted to make sure that I could show up for my kids when they were young the way that I wanted to, and I wanted more flexibility. So I made the decision to move to Boston and take a role in strategy and business excellence of product operations, which had absolutely nothing to do with the technical.”

“My previous role had all been engineering, building and starting up sites, leading processing teams at our sites, and this role really had nothing technical included in it. And I was really nervous about losing my technical capabilities. And that’s where ISPE and…specifically this conference became my anchor, because while my day-to-day work at Takeda didn’t involve anything about facilities of the future of engineering, I still had that outlet her with ISPE and with the [ISPE] Facilities of the Future Conference.”

“That provided a lot of value to me because I knew one day I would go back to operations and I wanted to make sure I stayed up to date with the industry. And that’s exactly what this conference has given me: the ability to maintain my technical knowledge, stay up to date on innovations and manufacturing digital transformations. But more than that, working on this committee has taught me a lot about leadership.”

This International Women’s Day, ISPE celebrates Daniel and countless others who contribute to communities, embody leadership, and accelerate action.
