Director, Engineering & Facilities
Matthew Snyder leads the Engineering team at SK pharmteco/Center for Breakthrough Medicines as Director, Engineering & Facilities to establish and support CDMO operations in viral vector gene therapy manufacturing, cell processing, plasmids manufacturing and multiple R&D, process development and testing and analytical services business units. His engineering team includes process engineering, capital project management, process automation and validation functions.
Matt joined SKPT after 4 years at CRB where, in his role with the Biopharm Core Team in the Philadelphia office, he provided design project management, process engineering subject matter expertise along with business development and client relationship "seller/doer" responsibilities.
Preceding his time at CRB, Matt concluded a tenure of 14 years with GlaxoSmithKline’s BioPharm CMC operations. In this role for GSK he was responsible for management of the group capital expenditure budgets, establishment and leadership of the engineering PMO, direction of sustainability initiatives and advocacy, as well as providing technical expertise and engineering advisory roles for internal groups and external organizations.
Matt has 25+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience all beginning through the cooperative education program at Drexel University with Life Science International. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Drexel. Matt has previously worked for Merck, Wyeth and ImClone Systems in Project Management and Process Engineering roles. Matt has been a member of ISPE since 2001, remaining an active supporter and Past-President of the Delaware Valley Chapter.
