Gwen is the Associate Director of Global Engineering at Lonza, where she leads cross-functional teams in the execution of CAPEX and strategic initiatives across large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing projects. With over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, she has held roles spanning automation, CQV, process engineering, and project delivery.
Throughout her career, Gwen has worked on both greenfield and brownfield facility builds, bringing a systems-level perspective to complex engineering and compliance challenges. She is particularly focused on applying risk-based principles to facility design, with an emphasis on aligning engineering decisions with evolving regulatory expectations. Her recent work includes implementing elements of the revised Annex 1 guidance during the construction of a major facility at Lonza Visp.
Gwen holds a BSc in Biology, an MSc in Engineering – Control Systems, and an MSc in Project Management. She is PMP certified, a Six Sigma Black Belt, and an advocate for cross-disciplinary collaboration in driving sustainable, regulatory-aligned facility solutions.
