Emilien Folzer, PhD

Dr. Emilien Folzer is a Principal Scientist in the Drug Product Formulation department at ten23 health since 2024. Emilien is heading the particle characterization laboratory for parenteral products, being responsible for analytical characterization of particulate matter and troubleshooting activities, building in his more than 10 years of experience in GMP production of parenteral products. From 2017-2024, Emilien was a Senior Process Expert and Team Leader of the prefilled syringe GMP drug product filling line at Novartis, and responsible for the introduction of new products, scale-up, process validation supporting BLA filings, product launches and inspections by health authorities such as Swiss Medic and FDA, as well as being responsible for routine production of commercial biological products. Prior to this role, Emilien spent more than 3 years at the GMP fill-finish sites of Hoffmann-La Roche as Process Expert for parenteral small and large molecule products. Emilien is a chemist by training and holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Basel.
